How do I get AI meeting notes into Notion automatically?

Sarthak SinghChecked 4 Nov 20266 min read

To get AI meeting notes into Notion automatically, use Notion AI Meeting Notes or connect a notetaker with documented automatic export, such as Fireflies, Read AI, tl;dv, Circleback or Otter. Circleback's Notion integration page says its automation needs Pro, Business or Enterprise [2]. If you use Granola or Fellow, their connectors send one note at a time.

Short answer

  • Notion AI Meeting Notes writes notes into Notion and is available on Business, Enterprise, and eligible mobile subscriptions with Notion AI. [1]
  • Circleback maps selected notes, transcript, insights and action items into a new page or database entry; the Notion automation needs Pro, Business or Enterprise. [2]
  • Read AI's Notion integration needs Pro, Enterprise or Enterprise+; automatic push is optional. [3]
  • Granola has no automatic or bulk sync in its Notion connector. It can send a note by hand or use its documented Zapier trigger. [4]
  • Fellow's help page documents a per-note Export to Notion action. [5]

We haven't run this test yet. The behavior below is what each maker documents, checked on 4 November 2026.

Disclosure. Candor is an app that will compete with some products named here. We describe every product, including Candor, from its own documentation, and we'll test them all with the same published method.

Which tools document automatic Notion exports?

“Native integration” can mean two different things: a vendor-built connector that starts after a meeting, or just a menu item that copies a finished note. The table says what the maker's page actually describes. “Not stated” means the integration source does not name a plan requirement; it does not mean every plan includes the feature.

For a hands-off flow, Fireflies, Read AI, tl;dv, Circleback or Otter have the clearest maker-documented automatic path. If you need a database with separate columns for date, assignee and action item, Circleback and tl;dv describe field mapping. Otter describes page or database destinations but its integration page does not explain field mapping.

Which tools need Zapier, Make or a manual step?

  • Granola: Its Notion connector sends notes one at a time from the share menu. For automatic sends, Granola documents a Zapier trigger named “Note Added to Granola Folder,” with Notion as the action. [4]
  • Fathom: Its Notion-specific integration page says the flow uses Zapier or Make. Another Fathom page describes connecting Notion once and having summaries and action items post automatically. Fathom's pages don't say whether it now has a direct connector; check the integrations menu before building a workflow. [9][10]
  • Otter: The same integration page describes a native route and a Zapier route. Use Zapier if you need to select a specific page, database or folder during setup. [8]
  • Fellow: The help article documents connecting Notion, then choosing Share → Export to Notion for each meeting note. It does not document a trigger for automatic exports. [5]

Notion MCP is another way for an AI assistant to write to Notion, but it is not a meeting-complete trigger by itself. Notion says MCP lets connected AI apps read and write pages using your Notion permissions. You still need an assistant or workflow to call it after a meeting. [11]

What gets synced, and what happens on a rerun?

Think of the sync like a courier bringing a fresh envelope to a filing cabinet. The important question is whether it creates a new sheet, fills labeled drawers, or revises the old one.

For a simple page, notes and transcript can live together as text. A Notion database is more useful when the integration puts values into properties you can sort or filter. Circleback says it can map meeting name, date, notes, transcript, insights and action-item fields to properties such as title, text, date and checkbox. Mapping action-item fields creates one database entry per action item rather than one per meeting. [2] tl;dv also lets you map meeting content into a page or database item, including participants and a link. [7]

Updates and duplicate handling differ:

  • Circleback says it creates a new page or database entry after each matching meeting, and its automations do not change existing pages. A rerun may therefore leave a second record; test this with a past meeting before turning on a broad rule. [2]
  • tl;dv warns that personal and team workflows can both run for the same meeting. Keep one route active if you want one entry. [7]
  • Read AI says renaming its “Read AI Meeting Notes” database makes Read create a new database. [3]
  • Fireflies says deleting an integration configuration stops new notes but does not remove notes already in Notion. [6]

For other tools, duplicate behavior and edits after a sync are not documented on the pages reviewed. Don't assume that fixing a transcript later will update a Notion page. We haven't connected these tools to check.

How do I set up a Notion meeting-notes flow?

Start with the destination. Create a database if you want to filter by meeting date, attendee or action item; use a parent page if you only need readable notes. Then connect one tool and run a single past meeting before enabling an all-meetings rule.

Fireflies: Open Integrations, choose Notion and connect your account. Authorize access to either the developer-provided database template or a page whose subpages will hold notes. Choose whether to save summaries and transcripts, set any filters, then save the configuration. Fireflies says team-wide integration setup requires Fireflies admin access. [6]

Read AI: Enable Notion from Read's Integrations page and authorize it in Notion. Workspace members may need an admin to turn it on first. Select the destination pages, then choose automatic push or “Push to...” and whether to use subpages or the Read AI database. [3]

tl;dv: Open Integrations in tl;dv and select Notion. Pick a personal or team workflow, choose “When a recording is ready,” then select create page, add to page or add database item. Add filters, map fields, test with a recent recording and turn the workflow on. [7]

Circleback: Open Automations → New automation → Notion. Connect Notion, choose a parent page or database, select what to send, map database properties if needed, then save. If the destination is missing, add Circleback under the page's ⋯ → Connections menu. The setup guide says you can run the automation on a past meeting to check it. [2]

Otter: Connect Notion through Otter's integration page and choose a Notion page or database as the destination. Otter's page says Enterprise customers can tell their Otter team where to send content. Use Zapier when you need to set a more specific destination. The integration page does not give the full native setup sequence or a plan matrix. [8]

Granola: Open workspace Settings → Connectors → Notion and connect. Authorize it in your browser and select the developer-provided template; Granola says specific pages are not supported. To send a note manually, use its share menu. For automatic sends, create a Zap using “Note Added to Granola Folder.” [4]

Fellow: Go to User Settings → Apps & Integrations, find the Notion card and connect it. Select the pages Fellow can access. For each note, open it, choose Share → send → Export to Notion, then pick a parent page or database. Private notes are included only if selected; once exported, they are visible to anyone who can access the Notion destination. [5]

Notion AI Meeting Notes: On an eligible Notion plan, start AI Meeting Notes from a page or meeting flow in Notion. It captures and transcribes the meeting, then identifies key points and action items in the notes. The help page says desktop app users need version 4.7.0 or later, and Mac users need macOS 13 or later. [1]

What this page can't tell you

We have not connected any of these products or checked what they write into a live Notion workspace. Maker pages also leave some questions open: Otter's Notion plan requirement, whether a reprocessed meeting creates duplicates in most tools, and whether edits to an old note flow back to Notion. Fathom's two pages describe different setup methods. Verify those details in your own account before you rely on a workflow for every meeting.

Questions

Can Fireflies save transcripts to Notion?

Yes, Fireflies can send meeting information to Notion after a meeting. Its integration sends a transcript link, and full transcript export is available on Pro or higher. [6]

Do I need a separate notetaker if I use Notion?

No, Notion AI Meeting Notes can create notes inside Notion. It is available on Business, Enterprise and eligible mobile subscriptions with Notion AI. [1]

Can an AI assistant put meeting notes into Notion through MCP?

Yes, Notion MCP lets connected AI apps read and write pages using your Notion permissions. A separate assistant or workflow still needs to call it after the meeting. [11]

Can Notion AI Meeting Notes replace a third-party meeting notetaker?

It can handle meeting notes inside Notion, so a separate app is not required for that route. Other notetakers document automatic exports and options such as transcript links, database mapping and per-note sharing. [1, 2, 4–8]
