How do I get AI meeting notes into ClickUp automatically?

Sarthak SinghChecked 4 Nov 20267 min read

To get AI meeting notes into ClickUp automatically, use Fireflies, Fellow or Otter, which document pushing meetings or action items to ClickUp, set up a tl;dv ClickUp workflow template, or route Granola or Fathom through Zapier. Fireflies creates a ClickUp task after each meeting, according to its integration guide [1]. If you only need an occasional task, ClickUp's MCP connector creates one when you ask an assistant.

Short answer

  • Fireflies, Fellow and Otter document pushing meeting tasks or action items to ClickUp; tl;dv offers ClickUp workflow templates without naming the connection layer. [1–3, 16]
  • Fireflies makes a ClickUp task after each meeting; its meeting filters require Business or higher. [1]
  • Fellow sends action items as ClickUp tasks and documents updates syncing both ways. Fellow's pricing table lists project-management integrations on Team, while its pricing FAQ says ClickUp is on “the Pro plan (and above)”, a plan name the current table doesn't show. [2][4]
  • Granola and Fathom have Zapier paths for creating ClickUp tasks from action items. [5–7]
  • A ClickUp assistant connector creates tasks when you prompt it; it does not keep every meeting in sync by itself. [8]

We haven't run these workflows yet. Where this page describes product behavior, it is what each maker or integration directory says, checked on 4 November 2026.

Disclosure. Candor is an app that will compete with some products named here. We describe every product, including Candor, from its own documentation, and we'll test them all with the same published method.

Which note takers connect to ClickUp directly?

“Direct” here means you set up the workflow inside the meeting app and authorize ClickUp there. It still needs a trigger and a destination, much like giving a courier an address; the app cannot guess which ClickUp list should receive a meeting.

Which note takers connect to ClickUp directly?
App What its docs say goes to ClickUp Direction and trigger Plan information
FirefliesA task after each meeting, with meeting title, summary, key points, and a link to the Fireflies Notepad. Its guide also says it turns meeting action items into ClickUp tasks, but does not say whether that means one task per action item.Automatic after a meeting; tasks go to a selected Space, Folder, and List. ClickUp edits do not sync back, according to the guide. [1]The integration guide does not name a minimum plan. Integration Rules to filter meetings require Business or higher. [1]
FellowAction items become tasks with assignee, due date, and context.Fellow says the sync is bidirectional: completing or updating a task in ClickUp changes it in Fellow, and Fellow updates appear in ClickUp. [2]Fellow's pricing table lists project-management integrations on Team; its pricing FAQ says ClickUp is on “the Pro plan (and above)”, a plan name the table no longer shows. The ClickUp page doesn't state a plan. [2][4]
tl;dvA Google Meet workflow can create ClickUp tasks from meeting highlights with AI summaries, transcripts, and timestamped video links.Set up a featured template or custom workflow in tl;dv's Integrations tab. The page doesn't say whether the template runs through Zapier; tl;dv's Trello help says its automated Trello workflows run through Zapier, so check the template before relying on it. [3][19]The ClickUp page does not name a required plan. Free-plan integration credits are documented separately, but the page does not say how many this ClickUp workflow uses. [3][9]
OtterEach meeting becomes a ClickUp task in a space you choose, with Otter's AI-generated summary; action items become subtasks under it, with assignees kept.Otter describes an automatic push after each meeting, and mentions Zapier for custom workflows. [16]The ClickUp page doesn't name a plan. [16]

The important difference is what counts as a task. Fireflies describes a meeting-level task; Otter describes a meeting task with action items as subtasks; Fellow describes one task for each action item you create or assign; tl;dv describes tasks from meeting highlights. Those can produce very different ClickUp lists. The product pages do not settle the exact duplicate behavior if the same meeting is processed again, so test that with a sample before sending a full team's meetings.

Which apps need Zapier or Make?

Zapier's ClickUp app has a Create Task action. A Zapier workflow needs an event from the meeting app first, then maps the event's data to ClickUp's task fields. The event determines whether a new meeting, a summary, or an action item starts the workflow; ClickUp's action determines where the task lands. [6][7]

Which apps need Zapier or Make?
App Documented route to ClickUp What the route is documented to send Plan detail
GranolaGranola lists ClickUp via Zapier. [5]Meeting action items become ClickUp tasks. The page does not document transcript or recording transfer for this route.Granola's current pricing page puts Zapier integrations on Business and Enterprise; Basic includes Slack only. [10]
FathomZapier lists a recipe for creating ClickUp tasks from new Fathom action items. [6][7]Action items. The recipe does not establish that summaries, full transcripts, or recordings are also copied.Fathom's release notes say Zapier is available on all plans; its plan comparison also lists personal-use Zapier on Free and Premium. [11][18]
CirclebackCircleback lists Zapier and Make as ways to send meeting outcomes to other apps, but its directory does not list ClickUp as a named direct integration. [12]Circleback's Zapier and Make guides name ClickUp among the apps you can reach. The automation sends the meeting outcomes you select. [20][21]The pricing page puts automations with all integrations on Pro. [13]
Read AIRead AI lists Zapier and webhooks; ClickUp is not named in its integration directory. [14]Not verifiedfor ClickUp.Read AI lists Zapier under Pro's premium integrations. [15]
Notion AI Meeting NotesNotion's meeting-notes guide describes saving notes in Notion; the sources checked do not document a ClickUp destination. [17]Not verifiedNot verifiedfor a ClickUp route.

For Granola or Fathom, open Zapier and look for a trigger that gives you the right meeting data. Then map the task name, description, destination list, due date, and assignee only when the trigger supplies those fields. Zapier can also find and update tasks, but this page has not tested a deduplication flow. If the workflow only uses Create Task, every qualifying trigger run creates a new task; a re-run can create another copy.

What syncs, and what stays in the meeting app?

“Integration” can mean a summary is attached to a task, a task is created for each action item, or a full transcript is copied. Those are different payloads. Here's what the product pages say:

What syncs, and what stays in the meeting app?
Route Summary or key points Action items as tasks Transcript Recording or notes link Updates back from ClickUp
FirefliesYesincluded in a taskGuide says it turns action items into tasks; exact task count per meeting is not statedNot statedLink to Fireflies NotepadNoper guide [1]

ZapierOnly if the meeting trigger exposes it and you map itOnly if the trigger exposes action items and you map them to task creationOnly if exposed and mappedOnly if exposed and mappedDepends on the Zap; use an update action for an existing task [6][7]

For assignees, both apps need to agree on who the person is. Fireflies says it matches an action item's owner to a ClickUp member by email; if you build a Zap, the trigger must supply an email or another value you can map. For duplicate control, a stable meeting ID or task ID is useful, but the docs reviewed do not say that these direct integrations deduplicate repeats automatically. Keep the first test narrow: one meeting, one target list, one known action item, then run the same input again and inspect what changed.

How do I set up the connection?

Fireflies

  1. In Fireflies, open Integrations, choose ClickUp, and connect your ClickUp workspace.
  2. Pick the Team, Space, Folder, and List where tasks should appear. Choose a folder or None if your list is at the Space level.
  3. Turn on auto-assignment if you want Fireflies to match task owners to ClickUp members by email.
  4. Create a sample task and confirm the title, notes, destination, and assignee in ClickUp. Save the configuration when those look right. [1]

Fireflies sends tasks for every meeting by default. If only some meetings should go to ClickUp, set Integration Rules; Fireflies says this filtering feature requires Business or higher. [1]

Fellow or tl;dv

  1. In Fellow, open Integration settings, connect ClickUp, and choose the Space, Folder, or List. Create or assign an action item in a meeting and confirm the resulting task and its assignee. [2]
  2. In tl;dv, open Integrations, select a ClickUp template or make a custom workflow, then check one Google Meet task in ClickUp for the summary, transcript, and timestamped link. [3]

Zapier

  1. In the meeting app, connect Zapier if the app's plan supports it. In Zapier, choose the meeting app's trigger and ClickUp's Create Task action. [5–7, 10, 11]
  2. Test the trigger with one meeting that has an action item. Map the action item to the task name and supporting notes to the description; choose the ClickUp workspace and List.
  3. If you need to update an existing task when a meeting changes, add a find step keyed to a stable meeting identifier, then use Update Task when a match exists. Otherwise the Create Task action can add another task on a repeat run. Zapier documents both find and update actions; we have not tested this setup. [6][7]

ClickUp with an AI assistant

ClickUp documents a remote MCP server at https://mcp.clickup.com/mcp. In ChatGPT, connect the ClickUp app from Apps and authorize a workspace. In Claude, add the remote server URL under Settings → Connectors on Pro, Team, or Enterprise; the Free setup uses Claude Desktop's developer config. [8]

This is a task-writing connector you invoke in a chat. It does not subscribe to every finished meeting. You also need a connector to the note taker, or paste the meeting's action items into the prompt, and ask the assistant to create a task. ClickUp's docs do not establish which meeting-note fields an assistant will find or map without that extra step.

What this page can't tell you

  • We have not connected these products to a test ClickUp workspace. The fields, assignment behavior, and repeat-meeting behavior above come from documentation, not a product test.
  • Fireflies describes both meeting-level tasks and action-item task creation. Its guide does not explain whether one meeting makes one task or one task per action item in every configuration.
  • Fellow, tl;dv and Otter do not name the exact ClickUp plan required on their integration pages. Fellow's pricing FAQ puts ClickUp on “the Pro plan (and above)”, but its plan table shows Free, Team, Business and Enterprise, so check the current tier with Fellow. [4]
  • The sources checked do not verify a ClickUp route for Notion AI Meeting Notes or Read AI. Circleback's documented route to ClickUp is through Zapier or Make.

Questions

Can ClickUp task updates sync back to meeting notes?

For Fellow, yes: task updates and completion in ClickUp sync back to Fellow. Fireflies says ClickUp edits do not sync back [1][2].

How do I get meeting notes into ClickUp tasks quickly?

Use Fireflies, Fellow or Otter, which document pushing tasks to ClickUp, a tl;dv ClickUp workflow template, or route Granola or Fathom through Zapier. The route determines whether tasks come from action items, highlights, or a meeting-level task [1–3, 5–7, 16].

Can AI meeting notes reliably capture my follow-up commitments at work?

The page describes workflows that send action items to ClickUp tasks, but it does not verify how reliably they identify commitments. Fellow documents assignees, due dates, and context for its tasks [2].

What AI meeting notes apps can create ClickUp tasks?

Fireflies, Fellow and Otter document pushing tasks to ClickUp, tl;dv offers ClickUp workflow templates, and Granola, Fathom and Circleback reach ClickUp through Zapier. They differ in whether tasks come from meetings, action items, or highlights [1–3, 5–7, 16, 20].
