# How do I get AI meeting notes into Asana automatically?

Fathom and Fireflies document automatic Asana task creation from meeting action items; Read AI, Fellow, Otter, Granola and Circleback offer manual, plan-limited or Zapier routes. Fathom's help page says its integration is open to all users, free and paid. Plan matters elsewhere: Otter's native integration is Enterprise-only, and Granola needs a paid plan plus Zapier.

We haven't run this test yet. Where a table shows a product's behaviour, it's what that product's maker says, checked on 4 November 2026.

Disclosure: Candor is an app that will compete with some products named here. We describe every product, including Candor, from its own documentation, and we'll test them all with the same published method.

> **Short answer**
> - For automatic task creation, start with Fathom or Fireflies. Fathom sends only action items assigned to you from calls you recorded. [1]
> - Fireflies creates tasks by default for every meeting; filtering which meetings trigger tasks requires Business or higher. [2]
> - Read AI is a per-action-item push on Pro, Enterprise, or Enterprise+. Fellow's Team plan syncs action items both ways. [3][4]
> - Otter's native integration is Enterprise-only. Its Zapier route is available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise. [5]
> - Granola needs a paid plan and Zapier; Circleback needs an automation if you want a workflow to run after a meeting. [6][7][8][9][10][11]

## Which tools document an Asana integration?

“Native” can mean a direct connection to Asana, or just a workflow page that happens to name Asana. The table separates what the maker documents from what it leaves out.

| Tool | What the maker says goes to Asana | Trigger and direction | Plan documented | What is not specified |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fathom | Action items assigned to you, plus a Fathom link and meeting title. The link is in a task description for free Asana users; paid Asana users get custom columns. [1] | Automatic at a chosen frequency or manual. Later edits and completion changes are sent to Asana. [1] | Fathom says all users, free and paid. [1] | Whether changes made in Asana sync back; handling of repeat syncs. |
| Fireflies | Action items become Asana tasks; auto-assignment can match the task owner's email to a project member. [2] | Automatic after meetings. You choose the workspace, project and section. [2] | The basic connection's plan is not stated. Filters for choosing meetings require Business or higher. [2] | Whether notes, transcripts, or recording links attach to tasks; duplicate handling. |
| Read AI | Selected action items, with editable task title, description, due date and assignee. [3] | Manual. You hover over each item and click the Asana icon. [3] | Pro, Enterprise, or Enterprise+. [3] | Whether later edits in Read update the task. |
| Fellow | Action items assigned to you become tasks. Names, due dates, and completion status sync both ways. [4] | Push one item at a time, or link a meeting series for automatic sync. [4] | Team plan and above. Each user connects their own Asana account. [4] | Whether meeting notes, transcripts, or recordings attach to tasks. |
| Otter | Action items become tasks; Otter says it can attach meeting notes and transcripts. [5] | Otter describes an automatic push after each meeting. [5] | Native: Enterprise only. Zapier: Pro, Business, or Enterprise. [5] | Native project setup is handled by Otter's solutions team; task customization needs backend configuration. [5] |
| tl;dv | Its Asana page describes putting AI summaries in Asana. It says readers can click into recorded-session segments, but does not state whether that link is part of the Asana payload. [12] | It documents templates or custom workflows from its Integrations menu. The connection layer is not named on the page. [12] | Not stated. | Whether tasks are created directly, what fields map, and whether a transcript or recording link is included. |

Fathom also documents a “Copy for Asana” action item option. That is a clipboard copy, so it does not keep tasks in sync. [13]

## Which tools need Zapier, Make, or an AI connector?

- **Granola:** Asana is listed “via Zapier.” Granola's Zapier connector needs a paid Granola plan and its desktop app. The “Note added to Granola folder” trigger can run automatically; “Note shared to Zapier” is a manual send from a note. The docs say action items can become Asana tasks, but do not publish a field map. [6][7]
- **Circleback:** its Assistant connects directly to Asana so you can ask it to create tasks, projects, or status updates. That is an action you ask for. For a workflow after each meeting, Circleback Automations can send selected meeting outcomes to Zapier; the integrations directory also lists Make. Pro is the first plan with “Automations with all integrations”; Free has limited automations. [8][9][10][11]
- **Otter:** use Zapier on Pro, Business, or Enterprise if you need to choose the task name, section, or assignee yourself. [5]
- **Notion AI Meeting Notes:** the help page we checked does not document an Asana connection or export to Asana. Its notes are described as Notion pages. [14]

An MCP connector gives an AI assistant access to meeting data or tools; it is not by itself an after-meeting sync. Fathom, Fireflies, Otter, and tl;dv document MCP access to meeting context. Circleback also lists an MCP server, and Granola's directory connects several AI clients to meeting notes. To create Asana tasks this way, the assistant needs separate Asana access and you need to ask it to act; none of those MCP pages promises that a task appears automatically after every meeting. [15][16][17][18][19][20]

## What actually syncs, and what can go wrong?

There are three different flows. A background trigger is like a ticket printer in a restaurant kitchen: it sends every order as soon as it appears. A manual push is the server checking the ticket before it reaches the kitchen. Two-way sync is a shared ticket both sides can change.

**Automatic push:** Fireflies creates tasks after meetings by default. Fathom can push on a schedule. Fellow can push all action items from a linked series. Granola can trigger a Zap when a note lands in a chosen folder. These save clicks, but they can also turn every tentative follow-up into a task unless you filter meetings or review what the notetaker extracted. [1][2][4][6][7]

**Manual push:** Read AI lets you review and edit task fields before creating each Asana task. Fathom has a manual sync button, and Fellow lets you link one item at a time. Circleback's Assistant can take an Asana action after you ask. [1][3][4][8][9][10]

**Two-way updates:** Fellow documents bidirectional changes to task names, due dates, and completion. Fathom documents sending later edits and completion updates to Asana, but does not say whether Asana-side changes come back. The other sources do not document a two-way task sync. [1][4]

Duplicates are the hole to check before enabling any automatic flow. The pages we checked do not explain whether reprocessing a meeting or rerunning a Zap creates another task. Field mapping is also uneven: Read AI names editable fields; Fathom documents its link and meeting-title fields; Fireflies names the destination section and optional email-based assignment. For the others, the field map is not verified. Start with a test project, run one meeting once, and check what happens before turning on every meeting.

## How do I set it up?

**For Fathom:** [1]

1. Open **Settings → Integrations → Task Manager**, choose **Connect**, then select Asana.
2. Sign in to Asana and grant access.
3. Choose the project, sync frequency, and automatic or manual mode.
4. For manual mode, open a call you recorded and click **Sync to Asana** above the action items assigned to you.

**For Fireflies:** [2]

1. Open **Integrations**, find Asana, and click **Connect**.
2. Sign in to Asana and allow Fireflies to read and write tasks.
3. Choose an existing workspace, project, and section. Turn on task creation and, if wanted, email-based auto-assignment.
4. Save the setup. Fireflies recommends creating sample tasks; check their project, section, and owner before enabling it for all meetings.

**For Read AI:** connect Asana from **Integrations**. Then open a meeting report, hover over an action item, click the Asana icon, check the fields in the **Create Asana Task** window, and click **Create**. [3]

**For Fellow:** connect Asana under **User Settings → Apps & Integrations**, choose a default project, then either link an action item or link a meeting series. Each person connects their own Asana account. [4]

For Granola, Otter's Zapier route, or Circleback, create the workflow in Zapier or Circleback Automations, choose the meeting or note trigger, then map the task action in Zapier. The exact field choices depend on the workflow; test one task before enabling a folder-wide or every-meeting trigger. [5][6][7][8][9][10]

## What this page can't tell you

We have not connected these products to Asana. Their pages do not establish action-item accuracy, how many duplicate tasks a rerun might make, or whether the undocumented fields include a recording link. The pending test is one meeting with three assigned action items per tool, followed by a re-sync and an Asana-side completion change.

## Frequently asked questions
